A book club is a reading group that is composed of a number of readers who participate in a regular discussion of various books. Traditionally, a book club consisted of several members who met each month and talked about specific works. However, with the advent of email and web forums, a new form of book clubs has emerged; online book clubs. Both online and offline traditional book clubs offer readers participation in spirited discussions. One advantage of traditional book clubs is the fact that all members are in the same room and this makes for a much more intimate experience. Because of their relatively small size, control over what book titles to be read or discussed is typically the responsibility of each member.
