Birth parents always say “I just knew they were the right ones”. Some birthparents become mentors, confidantes, ‘older sibling’ type relatives and best friends. Persons who have been previously matched may be able to obtain an original birth certificate for their personal records. Adoptees: over 18: some records of court proceedings about the adoption original birth certificate, non-identifying information under 18: non-identifying info if adoptive parents give consent. Post 1/1/95 adoptees can obtain the above unless there is a court order. Families formed through adoption, parents say, are not better or worse than families formed in other ways. They’re just different.
