We have a houseful of gaming consoles that see plenty of use, but had overlooked the PC for our play time until recently. I realized that we were amassing a pile of console activities that cost a pretty penny but weren’t playing them very much. The problem was that the kids couldn’t tell for sure whether a game was going to be worth the investment until after money was exchanged and the game was brought home. Many of their choices just didn’t end up holding their attention the way we hoped. That’s when we discovered that we could download free computer games that would allow us lots of play time before we invested cash into a game for our library.
