Church weddings are still very popular and it can be a great idea to book the venue around one of the major festivals, such as Easter or Christmas. The church will already be decorated for the special occasion which will save you any expense on paying for your own decorations, cutting the cost of your wedding. If a religious wedding is not important to you, look at venues such as parks and gardens which look beautiful and romantic, and require little or no decoration for a wedding.
There are other ways to save money on your wedding decorations. For instance, give your florist an idea of your colour scheme but ask which flowers will be in season at the time of your wedding, as these will work out much cheaper. Avoid getting married around occasions such as Valentines Day and Mother’s Day, when florists put their prices up due to the increased demand. Wholesalers are a great cost effective option if you do not mind arranging the flowers yourself - a simple bouquet tied with a ribbon can look very elegant.
